The Embers

making sure the fire stays lit somehow

I’m not sure how I feel about embers. The smoldering remains of a fire, glowing for as long as they can, as if trying not to die out, as if waiting for someone to fan them and revive the fire. At the same time, accepting that at the end of the day, all that’s going to be left are ashes.

Is that how the ember months are? A time to ensure the fire stays burning, that it does not end until it ends, that as long as the orange light is aglow, opportunities are still present.

Or

It is a time of realization that the year couldn’t end any better. That whatever fire you had in your soul had already burned through the previous months and you are just going to take the days as they come in hope that a new year comes with a fiery start.

Whichever one it is for you, I hope you don’t beat yourself so much about the choices and decisions you had to take that were hard for you. I hope you are making incredible memories to keep for a lifetime and not letting the other things that aren’t happening for you keep you away from enjoying the things that are. Pray while you’re at it, that is something that should never leave you. Prayer. One thing about it is, even when you don’t get what you want when you want it, asking Allah in the first place and knowing that you glorify Him gives you a sense of fulfillment and contentment. Enjoy the present, live in the moment and once in a while, let tomorrow decide what it’s going to be.

For some reason, I’m excited and I’m sure it not because my birthday is in October.

*cries in old age*

I’ve never been more agitated about reaching a new age. I’ll probably sleep through the day and pretend it didn’t happen because it is not me that’s going to turn 25. I feel like an ancestor already. Nevertheless, life goes on.

Well, September is here. Don’t you just love it already? Exciting things usually happen around the ember months, or so I like to think. September is going to be filled with excitement, happiness, love, energy, enthusiasm, relationship, success, fulfillment, victory, and many more In Shaa Allah.

Nothing beats the feeling of being alive though. Cause you can only strive to achieve when you’re living right? Look at you, pushing through the struggles that want to unalive you but can’t. Aren’t you proud? 😊
