from the mo… from the moment I signed up, this app got me in a chokehold.

Oh my, I forgot about this space for a second. It’s definitely old age, you people have to forgive me. You will be receiving my mails on Fridays now, just like how it used to be when I started out. I don’t know why I messed up the pattern ( don’t tell anyone but I think old age is starting to have me in a chokehold). Being a millennial is not easy. Whenever I try to explain it, I just…I just…

Enough about me. I don’t really like talking about me anyways. Let’s talk about Threads!

Yes, that app. The one connected to Instagram. The one that is slowly replacing Twitter. The one that Uncle Mark and his people launched yesterday and has now garnered over 50 million users! I am not normally affected by peer pressure, at the same time I am a curious cat.

From the mo… from the moment I signed up, I became a tailor and I’ve been sewing, stitching, threading since yesterday. Tailors have been dropping individual rules and regulations on the app like Uncle Mark sent them.

“Don’t bring Twitter behavior to this place”

“Don’t post your pictures here, leave them on Instagram”

“Couples should not bring their photos to the timeline, we don’t wanna see”

Some tailors are already lying on the app with, “We met on Threads” Threads that they just gave birth to?

Introverts, extroverts, everybody is just making noise on the app like they were waiting for the launch. Some have become Threads influencers.

I heard that some people did not sleep. Is it that these tailor’s jobs are on social media or they don’t have work at all?

Or we have gone and joined cult?

This is the app’s logo. Are you seeing 666?

All I see is a curled strand of thread. Everybody should calm down please 😂

Users are called threaders and tailors for now. And when they post stuff, they are threading! I can’t wait until they create more. Some say they are stitching 😭

On the other side Uncle Elon of Twitter threatens to sue our newly found sanctuary. Why? He said that they stole trade secrets and employed former Twitter employees. Whatever they do, they should not touch this app please.

From my point of view, it is an interesting place to be. It’s like a place where everyone can just be free in a way, like one massive group chat. I know there’s going to be more features as the app develops. Right now, there is no DM. I hope it stays that way though. Still navigating through but I love the feel and interface. It’s simple, not much is going on with colors. It’s practically black and white but still aesthetic, coming from a minimalist’s viewpoint.

How are we going to divide our time among these social media now? Somebody should devise a strategy for us because at this point, I think the only solution is to stop social media altogether because what is this sorcery?
